On April 22 2017, our voices were heard. Now it’s time for us to take action.
First let’s examine the mission statement from the organizers of The March For Science:
The March for Science champions robustly funded and publicly communicated science as a pillar of human freedom and prosperity. We unite as a diverse, nonpartisan group to call for science that upholds the common good and for political leaders and policy makers to enact evidence based policies in the public interest.
What exactly does this mean in the laymen’s terms? We believe that the government should use hard science and data when help creating and enforcing policies because that is what is in the public’s best interest. Not large corporations who don’t want to be regulated because they are afraid to lose money. We the people deserve a healthy environment in which to live.
